Read moreKristen Ciara Washington, a devoted mother of two, has deep roots in Greenville, Texas, where she was born, raised, and graduated from Greenville High School in 2005. A lifelong member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Kristen’s faith and community dedication are evident in her roles within the church and as the Minister of Communications. Professionally, Kristen has diverse experience in retail, healthcare, and workforce development, most recently serving as a Talent Development Specialist for the North Central Texas Workforce Solution Center.
In November 2020, Kristen was elected as Council Member for District 3 in Greenville, contributing to various committees. In 2023, she ran for Texas House District 2, aiming to become the first African American Democrat representing Hunt, Hopkins, and Van Zandt counties. Kristen’s activism includes work with the Universal Black Improvement Association, the District 6 Foundation, and Zeta Amicae Dallas. She is also an active member of The Corporation for Cultural Diversity Greenville, Texas Inc., and the NAACP Greenville, Texas. Kristen’s dedication to her community, faith, and family makes her a powerful advocate for positive change in Texas House District 2.
